Our school provides educational programs for students aged between 5-18 years with an Intellectual Disability. A large percentage of our school population also has additional disabilities, including autism, hearing, vision and physical impairments. In 2022, 124 students are enrolled in our school. These students come from a large geographical area centred around Rockhampton.
For children of compulsory school age, enrolment is subject to the process outlined in Education Queensland's Procedure: Enrolment in State Primary, Secondary and Special Schools which can be located on the Department of Education website.
To be enrolled in our school students must:
- Be diagnosed with an intellectual impairment; and
- Live within the school's catchment area (i.e. that Rockhampton North is the closest special school to their home)
- Parents can choose to bypass the nearest special school but will not receive transport assistance further than the nearest school.
For more information pertaining to enrolment please contact us or alternatively the Principal Education Officer (PEO) at the district office of Education Queensland.
